November 10, 2011 - Robert Wood Johnson Foundation Honors Chrysanne Grund

Greeley County Health Services is pleased to recognize Chrysanne Grund as a 2011 Robert Wood Johnson Community Health Leader.  Chrysanne is a long time GCHS employee, working in both the clinics and hospital for the last eighteen years in Wallace and Greeley Counties.  She was chosen from more than four hundred nominees to be one of ten leaders recognized this year.  Community Health Leaders are recognized for their dedication and service relating to health concerns within their communities and regions.

Debbi Lehner, GCHS CEO says, "Greeley County Health Services is so fortunate to have someone like Chrysanne as our advocate and the "teller" of our story.  Her passion for our ability to provide quality healthcare in the rural setting is only overshadowed by her respect for the individuals who provide it.  Not a person on our entire healthcare team fails to recognize the value of her distinct contribution to not only our sustainability, but to our true success.  We are truly grateful to her and proud of this wonderful, well-deserved recognition."

May 9, 2011 - Dr. Liu Elected to Board of Directors for the AAFP

Greeley County Health Services is proud to congratulate Dr. Robyn Liu for her recent election to the board of directors for the American Academy of Family Physicians.

Dr. Liu will serve as the new physician representative on the board of directors of the American Academy of Family Physicians. Liu was elected to a one-year term by the New Physician Constituency during the AAFP National Conference of Special Constituencies. The AAFP represents 100,300 physicians and medical students nationwide.  “I am honored by the trust my colleagues have placed in me to represent the interests of more than 25,000 new family physicians," says Dr. Liu

A new physician is defined as a doctor in his or her first seven years of practice following residency completion. As the new physician member of the board of directors, Liu is responsible for representing the interests and opinions of the New Physician Constituency to the AAFP Board of Directors and the Congress of Delegates. She also advocates on behalf of family physicians and patients nationwide to inspire positive change in the U.S. health care system.  Liu commented, “Family physicians are at the center of the solution to our nation's health care problems, and we must advocate for our value to patients and to the system. As a rural family physician, I am particularly sensitive to the importance of health care for communities. I look forward to the opportunity to help shape important decisions and move our specialty forward."

Dr. Robyn Liu will be officially installed as a board member at the AAFP Scientific Assembly in September 2011.   “We’re very pleased to acknowledge Dr. Liu’s achievement,” says Debbi Lehner, Greeley County Health Services Chief Executive Officer.  “Her years of work in rural and frontier family medicine give her a unique voice at a national level.”

Dr. Robyn Liu is chief of staff for Greeley County Health Services, a rural health system at work in Greeley, Wallace, and Hamilton Counties, Kansas.  For more information on Dr. Robyn Liu or Greeley County Health Services, please visit Our Team.

Dr. Moser named as KDHE Secretary

Dr. Robert Moser Appointed Kansas State Secretary of HealthGreeley County Health Services is pleased to congratulate Dr. Robert Moser who was recently named as Secretary of Health for the state of Kansas by Governor Elect Sam Brownback.  Dr. Moser has most recently served as the director of rural health and outreach for the University of Kansas.  Prior to that, Dr. Moser was the chief of staff at Greeley County Health Services for more than twenty years.  Dr. Moser’s experience in rural and primary health care will be a valuable asset to the Kansas Department of Health and Environment.

Dr. Moser credits this opportunity to his community and colleagues.  “I know I wouldn’t have the opportunities I’ve enjoyed without the great support of my communities and the medical system staff.”

In the last two decades, Greeley County Health Systems has grown to include a network of clinics in three counties in Western Kansas.  With progressive physicians and quality primary care, this system also features a comprehensive approach to medical care with patient financial and social support services, career ladder programs for staff members and staff leadership roles in rural health advocacy.

Our congratulations to Dr. Robert Moser and his family for this new opportunity to improve the health of Kansans.
