GCHS is trying to bring new services to our patients. Help us shape these future services, click here to take a quick survey.

Greeley County Health Services is the combination of multiple healthcare service lines with an integrated approach to treating the patient, their family and the communities we serve. This is accomplished by integrating the services of a Hospital, Long-Term Care, three Family Practice Clinics (Tribune, Syracuse, and Sharon Springs), a Home Health Agency and a variety of out-patient and ancillary services.

Thank you for choosing us for your healthcare needs! We’d like to tell you a little bit about how we are investing in your health.

You may be familiar with the term Electronic Health Record, or EHR. An EHR is a software system that stores all of your health information documented by a healthcare organization and provides tools to help caregivers provide you with informed, safe care. An EHR even lets us share your information with you in electronic format.

We want you to know that we are using the leading EHR for rural healthcare organizations which is also used by nearly 500 rural hospitals across the country. What does that mean for you?

GCHS Recognizes Women’s Health

National Women’s Health Week 2012 is May 13-19th. Women’s Health Week is a weeklong health observance organized by the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services. Women’s Health Week tries to motivate women to make their own health a top priority. Women are encouraged to eat healthy, get active, get enough sleep, pay attention to their mental health, and avoid unhealthy behaviors such as smoking or not wearing seatbelts. Finally, Women’s Health Week is designed to empower women to get their preventative health screenings done at their local health provider.

Women often serve as caregivers for their families, putting the needs of their spouses, partners, children, and parents before their own. As a result, women’s health and well-being becomes secondary. As a community, we have a responsibility to support the important women we know and do everything we can to help them take steps for longer, healthier, and happier lives.

Dessa Woods retires nearing 26 years of service

Tribune, KS, Apr. 24, 2012-- Dessa Woods, in charge of Accounts Payable and Purchasing, is retiring after 25 years and 6 months of service with Greeley County Health Services. Woods’s last day is Wednesday, April 25th.

Woods began working for Greeley County Health Services on October 31, 1986 as an aid. She worked for five years in the position and then moved to her current position as head of  Accounts Payable and Purchasing.

“The last 25 years has gone by fast, really fast. I have really enjoyed most of it,” Woods said.

Woods said that a lot has changed in the healthcare field since she began working in the 1980’s.

“This job has changed a lot. There is more paperwork, more ordering, more doctors, and a lot more supplies to keep up with for all of the different doctors,” Woods said.
